Steatite Ceramic – Magnesium Silicate
Steatite Ceramics are excellent electrical insulators. Alumina Ceramic – 96% Aluminum Oxide
Alumina Ceramics have excellent electrical, wear resistance, and high temperature properties. Our Alumina ceramic products also exhibit excellent mechanical strength, and can function at safe operating temperatures up to 1550°C. Typical 96% Alumina ceramic applications include, but are not limited to, electrical heating elements, fuses, igniters, resistors, stand offs, thermocouple cores, load banks, ovens, furnaces, connectors, knife sharpeners, substrates, heat sinks, sensors and spacers.
Alumina Ceramic (high purity) – 99.8% Dense Aluminum Oxide
Alumina Ceramics have excellent electrical, wear resistance, and high temperature properties. Our Alumina ceramic products also exhibit excellent mechanical strength, and can function at safe operating temperatures up to 1650°C. Typical high purity alumina ceramic applications include, but are not limited to, high temperature thermocouple insulators, Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD’s), Differential Thermal Analasys (DTA’s) components, electrical heating elements, fuses, igniters, resistors, stand offs, thermocouple cores, load banks, ovens, furnaces, connectors, knife sharpeners, substrates, heat sinks, sensors and spacers
Cordierite Ceramic – Magnesium Aluminosilicate
Cordierite Ceramics have excellent thermal shock properties. Our Cordierite products are low cost materials having good mechanical strength, good electrical insulation properties, good wear resistance and can function at safe operating temperatures up to 1000°C. Typical Cordierite Ceramic applications include, but are not limited to, electric heating elements, igniters, resistors, stand offs, band heaters, thermocouple cores, load banks, ovens, furnaces, connectors, spacers, fuses, gas grill radiants, sensors, stiffening rods, welding backers, ceramic welding ferrules.
Forsterite Ceramic – Magnesium Silicate
Forsterite Ceramics have relatively high thermal expansion allowing them to seal to certain glasses and metals. Forsterite Ceramic has excellent electrical insulating properties, good mechanical strength and can function at safe operating temperatures up to 1000°C. Typical Forsterite Ceramic applications include, but are not limited to, radiation detection devices and other vacuum and hermetic seal type ceramic applications.
Magnesium Oxide Ceramic – MgO
Our electrically Fused Magnesium Oxide extruded ceramic cores and dry pressed ceramic bushings and ceramic spacers have good electrical insulating properties with the added benefit, offering good thermal conducting properties at elevated temperatures. Typical MgO Ceramic applications include, but not limited to, cartridge heaters, thermocouples, mineral insulated cable, high watt density heaters as well as other temperature sensing devices.
Mullite Ceramic
Mullite is a high temperature ceramic material with good mechanical strength and excellent thermal shock properties due to its relatively low thermal expansion coefficient. Mullite Ceramic is a good lower cost alternative to dense alumina. Typical Mullite Ceramic applications include, but are not limited to, thermocouple applications, furnace muffle tubes, kiln rollers, sight tubes, rods and kiln furniture.
